Lots of family friendly wildlife spotting activities to help you explore one of the best nature sites in the Tees Estuary at North Gare.

The Teesmouth National Nature Reserve is a reserve with a difference, surrounded by heavy industry it is a haven for wildlife. From Ringed Plovers, Lapwings, Oystercatchers in the Spring to Sandwich Terns in the summer and Cormarant, Curlew and Redshank in the autumn there is plenty of bird life. Four species of Marsh Orchids bloom here in June and July.

Please meet in the North Gare car park, off A178, between Seaton Carew and RSPB Saltholme. It can be accessed by bus on Stagecoach service 1/1A, which operates every half an hour between Hartlepool and Middlesbrough.

Assistance dogs only.
