Shining Example Competition Terms & Conditions
1. Shining Example the ‘Competition’ is promoted by Local Motion (Darlington Borough Council) of Room 417, Town Hall, Darlington, DL1 5QT
2.1 Participants of the Competition are invited to visit the Local Motion website to enter a prize draw to win one main prize, a second prize of a rechargeable bike lights set, or one of 20 sets of bike lights.
2.2 Main prize consists of a Blaze bike lights set and either a Proviz reflective cycling jacket or a ruck sack with digital display.
3.1 To enter the Competition you must submit a completed entry form. You may enter online before or on 8th of December 2017 or send your entry postmarked no later than 8th of December 2017. Post your entry to Shining Example Competition, Local Motion, Room 417, Town Hall, Darlington, DL1 5QT. Entry forms are available on the Local Motion website or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with the words ‘Shining Example Entry Form’ in the subject line.
3.2 The Competition will run from 20th of November 2017 9:00AM GMT until 8th of December 2017 11:59 PM GMT. Entries received outside this time period will not be considered. Local Motion reserves the right in its absolute discretion to extend the closing date where the entries received are of insufficient quality or quantity.
3.3 No entry fee is required. However, you are responsible for the cost (if any) of sending your Competition entry to us.
3.4 Local Motion will not accept:
(a) responsibility for Competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or
(b) proof of posting or transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the Competition.
3.5 By submitting a Competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.
4.1 The Competition is only open to all residents in the UK aged 18 years or over, except:
(a) employees of Local Motion ;
(b) individuals who are professionally connected with the Competition or its administration; or
(c) members of the immediate families or households of (a) and (b) above.
4.2 In entering the Competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the prize you may win. Local Motion may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the Competition.
4.3 Local Motion will not accept Competition entries that are:
(a) automatically generated by computer;
(b) completed by third parties or in bulk;
(c) illegible, have been altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with;
(d) photocopies and not originals; or
4.4 There is a limit of one entry per person. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.
4.5 Local Motion reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize Competition.
5.1 The prizes available to be won are:
(a) Main prize:
1 x Blaze bike lights set
1 x Proviz reflective cycling jacket (men’s or women’s, colour to be chosen by the winner)
1 x CYGLO Back Pack with rechargeable LED display
(b) Runner up prizes:
1 x Oriuss rechargeable front and rear bike lights set.
20 x battery operated front and rear lights sets.
5.2 The winner of the main prize (rechargeable lights and either jacket or back pack) will be selected at random first. The winners of the 20 sets of battery operated lights will be selected at random after the winner of the main prize has been selected. There will be one prize per person.
5.3 Local Motion and Connect Tees Valley staff members and an independent party not employed within Local Motion or Connect Tees Valley (the "Judges") will draw the winner of the main prize and 20 winners of the front and rear runner-up light sets from all the valid Competition entries received in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
5.4 Local Motion will send the full names of the judges to anyone who writes within one month after the Closing Date of the Competition requesting details of the judges and who encloses a self-addressed envelope to the address set out in clause 1. A list of names of the judges can be requested via email at email@example.com with the wording "Shining Example Judges" in the subject line, from the Closing Date for a period of 30 days.
6.1 The winner of the Competition will be announced on the http://www.dothelocalmotion.co.uk/shining-example/ of the Local Motion website and the Local Motion Facebook page on Monday 11th of December 2017 (Announcement Date).
6.2 The decision of the judges nominated by Local Motion is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
6.3 Local Motion will contact the winners personally as soon as practicable after the Announcement Date, using the telephone number or email address provided with the Competition entry. Local Motion will not amend any contact information once the Competition entry form has been submitted.
6.4 Local Motion will send the name and county of the winners to anyone who writes within one month after the Closing Date of the Competition requesting details of the winners and who encloses a self-addressed envelope to Local Motion and or a list of winners can be viewed at http://www.dothelocalmotion.co.uk/shining-example/ from the Announcement Date.
7.1 If you are the winner of the prize, you will have 7 days from the Announcement Date to claim the prize by responding to the email or phone call made by Local Motion after the Announcement Date. If you do not claim the prize by this date, your claim will become invalid and another name will be selected at random from the remaining eligible entries. The prize(s) will be sent by post to the winners, or they can be collected in person from Room 417, Town Hall, Darlington, DL1 5QT.
7.2 Local Motion will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be contacted or is not available, or has not claimed their prize within 7 of days of the Announcement Date, the Local Motion reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the correct entries that were received before the Closing Date.
7.3 Local Motion does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.
8. Insofar as is permitted by law, Local Motion, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winners or accept any liability for any loss, damage, or personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where the personal injury or death is caused by the negligence of Local Motion, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
9.1 If you are the winner of the Competition, you agree that Local Motion may use your name, image and town or county of residence to announce the winner of this Competition and for any other reasonable and related promotional purposes.
9.2 By entering into this Competition you may receive future emails from Local Motion and or Connect Tees Valley regarding related promotions, Competitions or cycling and sustainable transportation information for the Tees Valley region. If you do not wish to be contacted by Local Motion or Connect Tees Valley in future, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the wording "Unsubscribe" in the subject line at any time.
9.3 By entering the Competition, you agree that any personal information provided by you with the Competition entry may be held and used only by the Local Motion or its agents and suppliers to administer the Competition.
10.1 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, Local Motion may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the Competition.
10.2 Local Motion reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the Competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
10.3 These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
