Walk the Ingleby Barwick Loop on this FREE guided group wildlife walk. The 6 mile route is great for families. It takes you along the River Tees on the outskirts of the estate where you may be lucky enough to see herons, along with host of bird and insect life.
The walk starts and ends in Romano Park, along the edge of Ingleby Barwick and the Barwick Pond Local Nature Reserve, home to the Great Crested Newt.
Romano Park has fantastic landscaped play facilities providing a place for children of all ages to enjoy themselves. There are lots of picnic benches so would lend itself to stopping off for a picnic afterwards while the children enjoy the play area.
The playground includes a rope bridge, zip wires, balancing wires, sand play and an impressive fort, along with more traditional playground swings, slides and roundabouts.
There are spaces for up to 20 people so booking is advised.
