Anne walks to work and wins
Anne was delighted with her £20 voucher which she won taking part in the Redcar and Cleveland commuter challenge in March 2018.
“I feel a bit of a fraud” said Anne, “I walk to work anyway!”
Walking is great exercise and Anne, who lives in Redcar has been walking to work ever since she started her job just over a year ago.
Living close to town has its benefits. Not only can she walk to work but also to shop and pop to the sea front.
Why take the Commuter Challenge?
With more than a third of all journeys under two miles being made by car, Anne is doing her bit to help us encourage people to adopt greener local travel in the Tees Valley.
More than 70% of us report an improvement to our mood thanks to getting outside for a walk. Anne certainly did have a smile on her face!
Start walking to work
We run our Commuter challenge at regular intervals across the Tees Valley. Find out how your work can get involved here.
We have put together some useful information on walking, including how to get started.
