We’re recruiting for a travel advisor

Next Post

Are you looking for a job that gets you out and about and speaking to people? If a friendly team and a varied workload are what you want then why not consider coming to work with us as a travel advisor.

We’re currently recruiting – please note: applications close 29 April 2018.

The Let’s Go Tees Valley (formerly Local Motion) travel advisors work across JobCentres, workplaces and the local community across the Tees Valley.

Today for example two of our advisors are in the Cornmill Shopping Centre in Darlington with Arriva, promoting bus use and collecting travel information. Another is in Middlesbrough JobCentre Plus working with job seekers and coaches to provide travel advice and support for people with interviews or a new job.

Our friendly community face, our travel advisors are a key part of the Let’s Go Tees Valley programme.

They provide residents with specific information and advice about the ‘travel choices’ that are available to them. Come rain or shine our travel advisors are out talking with people from across the Tees Valley, collecting information on our travel patterns with a view to encouraging residents to choose greener, healthier and cheaper ways to travel including walking, cycling and using public transport.

This year we are targeting up to 15,000 households as well as workplaces and JobCentres and we need you on our team!

The Travel Advisors will be expected to work across all 5 local authority areas that make up the Tees Valley (Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland and Stockton-on-Tees) working alongside staff from these authorities.

Your work week will run Tuesday to Saturday and your base will change periodically as the project progresses and you move from one local authority area to another. You must therefore be able to begin your working day from any location within the Tees Valley.

For a further informal discussion, please contact Alex Kay, Sustainable Transport Officer, on 01325 406226.
