Get your hands on a pre-loved or refurbished bicycle
There are several ways to get yourself a bike without breaking the bank. Pre-loved, refurbished and upcycled bikes are available from the active travel hubs in Darlington, Middlesbrough and Stockton.
Bike Stop in Darlington have refurbished and new bikes for sale. They also accept payment in instalments. Bike Stop provide free cycle training if you want to start travelling by bike to college or work but need some extra confidence. They also offer low cost bicycle maintenance training sessions, MOTs and servicing to help you save money and keep your bike in tip-top shape.
If you are in need of a bike and can’t afford one yet, Middlesbrough Cycle Centre provide short-term bike loans. They also have refurbished bikes for sale and provide free cycle and bike maintenance training courses.
They also run specific courses for Job Seekers. Qualifying participants could receive a bike at the end of the course. Please contact our personal travel planning team for more.
The Hub in Stockton have refurbished bikes for sale. They also offer free maintenance courses, cycle training and weekly rides for all levels of experience from their shop on Stockton High Street.
