Wheel Women Bike Rides

Join other Wheel Women in the Tees Valley for FREE fun, gentle bike rides in Darlington, Hartlepool, Stockton, Middlesbrough and Redcar. 

All rides are led by a qualified ride instructor and are no more than 14 miles in length, with plenty of opportunities to rest along the way. Perfect for people looking to build confidence and find new routes to cycle in the Tees Valley!

Winter ride series 2021:

  • Sunday 7 November: Redcar to Saltburn and back
  • Sunday 5 December: Hartlepool to Teesmouth and back
  • Sunday 9 January: Dino Park and River Path Loop
  • Wednesday 23 February: Family Ride - Darlington to Middleton St George and back
  • Sunday 20 March: Ropner Park to Wynyard Woodland Walkway and back

Mixed Bike Rides

There are many groups and clubs offering beginners bike rides around the Tees Valley area.


Ride Darlo is a group that runs a series of bike rides in Darlington in association with HSBC UK & British Cycling. Part of the Let’s Ride / Guided Rides programme, their rides are designed for fun, recreation, socialising and enjoyment, whilst at the same time meeting new people and light exercise.

We're delighted to support The Thornaby FunRiders Group (TFG)! The group meets on various days throughout the week to offer short and medium-length fun rides, from people just starting out to seasoned cyclists. 

Rides days and times are as follows:

  • Tuesday 6pm
  • Thursday 6pm
  • Friday 3pm
  • Saturday 10am
  • Sunday 10am

All rides meet at The Roundel Pub, Mitchell Avenue, Thornaby, Stockton-on-Tees TS17 9AE
