Maintenance sessions in your area

If you don't know one end of your bike from the other, we're here to help! Book on to a basic maintenance session or course to help you understand the main parts of a bike and how to carry out basic repairs to adjust your gears or fix a puncture. Find a session that suits you below and book using the contact details listed.

Where: Bike Stop, 31 Skinnergate, Darlington, DL3 7NR

When: every Thursday 6-7pm and every Saturday 1-4pm, to be booked in advance.

What: Maintenance sessions for adults and juniors are run at Bike Stop every Thursday evening from 6pm to 7pm and every Saturday from 1pm to 4pm. Places are limited so please book in advance. Price: Thursday session - Adults £10 / Juniors £5, Saturday session - Adults or Family £30.

Where: National Cycle Network 14, near Newburn Bridge on the main Seaton Carew promenade, approx 2 miles north of Seaton

When: Thursday 18 July, 9.30am-4.30pm

What: Show your bike some TLC! Bring it along to the portable workshop where Dr Bike will give your bike a free health check with advice if there is anything that needs further work. Supported by the Hartlepool Active Travel Hub and delivered by the Hartlepool Cycle Clinic.

When: There are maintenance sessions running on the following dates:

What: This free course covers the basics of bike maintenance and places should be booked in advance.

Bike MOTs

Where: The HUB, 147 High Street, Stockton, TS18 1PL

When: Thursdays - drop off your bike by 11am (at the latest) and it will be ready for collection by 3pm.

What: This free bike MOT includes a full check to make sure it is safe to ride, gears adjusted, brakes adjusted and a report on anything that needs replacing either urgently or in the future. Please make sure your bike is clean before you drop it off!

Cycle Maintenance Classes - Fully booked until mid-August - call for more info

When: Wednesdays from 9am to 12pm. Get in touch to book a course. You don't need to bring a bike with you.

What: A free hands-on bike maintenance class for anyone who is keen to learn how to fix their bike. It covers the M-check, adjusting gears & brakes, how to replace and patch an inner tube (fix a flat tyre), how to tell when to replace items such as brake pads, rims, bearings etc and what products & techniques to use to care for your bike.
